Bethany Walker was chosen from the 2010 selection of students for the Embroiderers’ Guild Graduate Showcase.
The selection team felt that although there were several strong applicants for the award, Bethany’s was “Outstanding, showing innovative work, well planned and presented.”
Bethany had already secured an artists residency at de Montfort University, Leicester, and was interested in developing her teaching skills.
She is a graduate from De Montfort University.
Bethany was presented with her certificate at the Knitting and Stitching Show 2010 at Alexandra Palace, where she exhibited her work as part of the Embroiderers’ Guild Graduate Showcase. As part of her award Bethany had a place at the Textile Study Group Summer School at Harper Adams in 2011, where the tutors were Alison King, Rosemary Campbell and Bobby Britnell.
