Glove Box [14 x 43 x 14 cms] Sarah Burgess
The contrast between unworn, unmarked gloves in their pristine tissue paper and discarded and stained gloves in their boxes links with Sarah’s interest in the passage of time. The space between the two sets of gloves is a Life, full of growth, play, and work and caring. Hands hold, stroke, draw, stitch, cut and wash and life’s experiences leave their cumulative marks, until the final unpicking. Reading the gloves forms a narrative, a glove story.
