Creating structural forms is a new development in Bobby’s work. She continues to employ heavily machine-stitched surfaces, which can be manipulated and folded to create new structures. Bold drawings, carried out in pencil and charcoal play an important role in formulating ideas. ‘Pleats in Form’ has been designed and developed from the study of pleats as used in garment making. Larger scale pieces see drawings and textiles becoming integrated.
