Launching the New Textile Study Group Website

Building a new website for the Textile Study Group has been a monumental task, but we are thrilled to finally share our new digital framework with you.

Our main objective from the outset was to enhance and future-proof the TSG profile, creating a digital space that is both beautiful and effortless to use. We owe a huge thank you to Lois for getting the ball rolling and recognising that it was time to replace our previous site. Designed and built by Dulcie Fulton and Aidann Bowley at Bluish, our new platform provides an elegant, lasting space to share our work with the world.

Design and Accessibility

The result is a clean, accessible layout where the Textile Study Group’s world can be explored directly from the homepage. Every detail has been carefully considered—from font choices and accessible colour palettes to the subtle, beautiful dividing lines that mirror hand stitching. It feels fully aligned with who we are as makers.

Behind the Scenes

Managing this transition has been as much a personal learning journey as a technical one. Populating an entire site via Craft CMS taught me a great deal about how I work; I quickly realised that long written instructions aren't for me—I am certainly a visual learner.

Every single image had to be prepped, captioned, and categorised to optimise searchability. Just when I thought the bulk of the text and imagery was uploaded, a whole new layer of work began: learning the nuances of spacing, grid layouts, and visual presentation.

Refined to Perfection

None of this would have reached the standard it has without Dulcie’s relentless dedication to bringing out the absolute best version of this site. We refined, adjusted, and polished every page until every single element sat perfectly.
