How to Join

We meet as a group twice a year at a conference centre near Birmingham. We usually have an invited tutor to work with us at each of these Continuing Professional Development meetings, so we are learning together. These gatherings also include our professional reviews. We hold meetings online to organise our activities.

As members of the group we all make a commitment to take on active committee roles, contribute to exhibitions, talks and events, teach on the Summer School and to attend as many CPD weekends as we can.

Yes. Continuing Professional Development is a unique element of membership to the TSG. Our two meetings a year always offer learning or enrichment activities. We have an external reviewer who works with the group, giving each member a professional review every 5 years.

Our members range in age from 30s to 80s. We’re always looking to bring new fresh talent into the group whilst celebrating the enormous expertise of our longer standing members. Members may choose to become associate members once they are less able to fulfil the active roles within the group.

Our 5-year professional reviews provide a focus for our individual practices. Our regular meetings and the limited group size means that strong bonds and peer support develop within our group. This allows for robust connections, good team work and collaboration.

We tend to work on a new project about every three years, but this can encompass a number of exhibitions, publications and other events within that time.
