The Textile Study Group
The Textile Study Group (TSG), first established in 1973, is a professional group of 25 nationally and internationally recognised textile artists and tutors, well known for innovative and challenging approaches to textile art practice and teaching.
Objectives
The objectives of the group are to promote and advance the practice of stitch and textile art through a broad spectrum of educational activities: workshops, courses, lectures, publications and exhibitions.
Our members value the importance of the development of their own individual art practice in their role as educators. The Textile Study Group supports members in achieving the highest standards of teaching and exhibiting.
What We Do
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Members meet for two weekends a year to participate in supportive yet challenging CPD workshops led by outside tutors from a wide range of disciplines.
Five-Year Reviews
Members undertake a critical five-year review with an appointed mentor to reflect on their own practice and teaching.
Summer School
We run an annual residential Summer School tutored by three group members. It’s open to anyone wishing to develop their textile practice.
Exhibitions

Workshops & Lectures
