Implement

20 March – 23 May 2027

Implement explores the journey from idea to realisation through the lens of textile practice. As makers, we transform concepts into material form using processes, methods, and tools—whether intuitive, structured, traditional, or experimental.

This exhibition considers both meanings of “implement”: the act of putting ideas into action and the tools that make that action possible. This might require delicacy, accuracy, precision, or a multitude of textile techniques. As simple as a needle or as complicated as a computerised sewing machine the works reveal the decisions, techniques, and systems that shape our creative outcomes.

Artists are invited to expose the often hidden stages between conception and resolution, challenging established methods, testing new tools, and combining unexpected processes. Building on themes of transformation and renewal, Implement celebrates experimentation, innovation, and the evolving relationship between making, materials, and meaning.
