The official opening of DIS/rupt at the Museum in the Park and the Landsdown Galleries, Stroud, as part of SIT select 2017 was last Friday, 5th May 2017. The opening was performed by curator and writer, June Hill and here are some photographs from the day.
This is very reminiscent of Clare Smith’s wonderful series of works that drew different dyes into fabrics to make previously invisible patterns and marks visible. Watermarks and Pojagi were two I remember best but there was a third. All are well documented on YouTube. Her work was about damage that dye spills do to rivers so it was very relevant.
