The following courses are suggestions and are best delivered over 2+ days. Unfortunately Ruth is unable to offer one day courses.
PRINT CRAZY
Explore the possibilities of the repeated use of simple patterns and prints on fabrics. Working on different fabrics- from calico to flimsy chiffons use crazy things to make blocks, explore the possibilities of mono printing and roller printing with textile colours. The course will also include the use of Procion Dye to give extra colour.
LAYERS of COLOUR with FABRIC and THREAD
For those who want to explore the use of colour and composition
This course will concentrate on creating, mixing and using colour on fabric, thread and paper. Having produced a wonderful palette of dyed and coloured fabrics and threads, the course will then concentrate on the exploration of different colour effects and combinations using simple stitch and manipulative techniques. It will be necessary to rinse fabrics between day one and two.
For all courses there is an additional charge for mediums used such as dye, acrylic or printing mediums which is between £5.00/£8.00. per head.
Once the course is agreed a full requirements list will be sent giving details of equipment, fabrics, papers, etc needed for the course.
