Courses

Courses I offer can be:

  • techniques based sessions (beginners level through to advanced) learning about a specific basketry technique (eg Coiling, Twining, Plaiting) and working with appropriate materials;
  • or far more experimental sessions focusing on a few aspects of a specific technique (eg Coiling), and experimenting with materials and the technique to explore possibilities.

Courses generally take a broad contemporary approach to basketry as a medium to work with. The techniques courses have clear outcomes, whereas the more experimental courses mostly result in students producing a small collection of samples from which to pursue further ideas independently.

I teach regularly at the City Lit, Covent Garden, London.

I also teach beginners courses at Ardington School of Arts and Crafts in SW Oxfordshire.

I also teach on a freelance basis and am happy to discuss ideas for courses – please contact me for further information and fees.
