Workshop Recap:

Running alongside the Textile Study Group’s UNmaking exhibition, this workshop led by Eleanor brought together a group of artists for a dive into the world of paper—mostly Japanese, and entirely inspiring.

There is nothing quite like spending a weekend immersed in creativity. Have you ever experimented with combining paper and fabric in your own creative practice?

Participants enjoyed a hands-on, inspiring day exploring advanced crafting and manipulation techniques, using a specialist paste to strengthen delicate paper as it was moulded around shapes to create stunning, tactile embossed surface prints. Eleanor demonstrated exciting ways to seamlessly combine paper and fabric together, unlocking new dimensions in textile art. The session featured a diverse range of paper yarns, plus the chance to purchase specialist Japanese paper.
